You know that feeling, when you think that you’ve put in an effort and have something to show for it and that it’s good enough / big enough / long enough / substantial enough and then, then someone says, here – look at this – and there you see a piece of work that makes yours look like something a pre-schooler did. And if you’re honest, it’s so good you literally want to vomit while this internal struggle between jealousy and admiration rages.
Well, that’s how I felt today….
Michael Cheney, that master of online marketing, put out a shout asking for friends to take a look at his new content site before it goes live. Being neighbourly (I know with Brexit the UK is feeling a wee bit isolated, but they’re still our next door neighbours) I put my hand up and smugly said ‘happy to’. Well, I can say it’s been a while since I ate so much humble pie.
Michael lays out practical, common-sense advice in Email Marketing Do’s and Don’ts – The Momma Method. With 7 big DO’s and another 7 big DON’Ts and plenty more to think about, I have never seen a more comprehensive primer in crafting email, ever. While it’s true I was aware of some of these issues and tips before, I certainly hadn’t thought about them in the way he lays out and there are several I hadn’t thought about at all.
They say when the student is ready, the teacher will appear. I’m guessing I’m ready to finally learn how to do this right. Thank you Michael.
